Mounting is quick and easy and looks like they are floating which is kinda cool. The one I kept so far is pretty nice, I've never printed on metal before or seen any others up close so nothing to compare to but as previously reported they are a bit in the thin side. I have to wait until tomorrow to pick them up. Well I went to pickup my 3 11X14 in store today and 2 of the 3 had scuff/streaking so the lady said she would re run them.

Not sure if a color image would have an actual white area or not. The gray of the base metal was the whitest as anything got. I tried a black and white image for the heck of it, and the results were pretty terrible. (Even the manager advised against it)ĭoing a 11x14 print here at a local place. Getting 4 11x14s that I love, 3 that I like and 3 that will be hung in garage is still a pretty good value $90 local pickup, but I dont think I will be printing in store anymore. Lets see how the shipped boards look like. * The in-store volume for metal is low, the expertise is non existent * They use old epson printers to do this and it leaves streaks, specially noticeable in dark / low detail areas Here is my update, I picked up 10 prints locally 11x14 and here is the summary: This is local pick up only I'm assuming?Īlso I've never had any photos printed on metal how thin should they be normally? Jeff if they we're scuffed did you not ask them to redo them? It's my understanding that if you do not like how they turned out you do not have to pay for them. I saw this with only an hour left, I ordered 3 11x14 with local pickup, I'll hopefully have them by tomorrow afternoon as there only print guy had Sunday off. Well, I wish I would have had the tome to get some ordered before today. The people at the store had little to no knowledge about the process or materials used so I decided to stop asking questions.įor those of you who've sent off for larger prints, I'd be greatly interested in hearing about your results when they come in. It was just OK, but good enough to do about three of some of my more colorful work. I found the 11x14 to be a little on the thin side and the surface of the print had scuffs in it, perhaps from the local store's machine. ^ I was able to bet 11x14 for pickup, but 20x30 had to be shipped. Does it depend on the store or are metal prints always shipped? I was just on the site and it didn't give a pickup option for the metal prints.the only choice was to have them shipped. Fingers crossed on the output, this takes care of 2 large home walls that have been waiting for metal prints Tell me about it, I am already up to $800 with 25 total prints shipped. For $25 each I figured it was a cheap way to see what kind of quality they put out and a good way to see some of my work on metal for the first time. And part of that is responding very quickly, which they do. I am not a print junkie so my benchmark is Adormapix - super happy with their quality of prints and photobooks.Īdoramapix is great! If there is a problem with, say, a metal print (damaged during shipping, or defects in the surface, etc.) they make it right. I like it up to 11x14, anything larger I want better quality and matte only - they typically only have glossy for same day pickup. I always do same day pick from walgreebs, no shipping charges. If anyone has experience with shipped walgreen prints, please do share. Just finished two projects for home that I had been procrastinating on for a year. Just FYI - cross positing in canon because, ehm, this is where I browse. This is the cheapest I have seen and there are some reviews indicating that the quality of shipped prints is decent. The 20x30s shipped w/ 8.275%tax is coming out to $36/panel. Shipping is not cheap (~$8/panel for me in Austin). Walgreens has a sale going on for metal frames (and canvas and others) 75%.
